Energy stocks were edging higher premarket Monday, with the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) advancing by 0.1%.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 0.5% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 1.9% lower.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.8% higher at $83.06 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil rose 0.9% to $89.34 per barrel, and natural gas futures were down 2.1% at $2.68 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Palantir Technologies (PLTR) Co-Founder Peter Thiel has acquired 1,189,792 American depositary shares in Argentina's Vista Energy (VIST) worth about $75.9 million, according to a US Securities and Exchange Commission filing published Friday. Shares of Vista Energy were up more than 4% pre-bell.
