Energy stocks were declining premarket Wednesday, with the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) 0.2% lower.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was down 1.4% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 0.2% higher.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 1.1% lower at $68.73 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil fell 1.6% to $71.82 per barrel, and natural gas futures were down 1.9% at $3.21 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Sable Offshore (SOC) shares were up more than 18% after the company said it has priced a combined equity and debt offering to raise new capital and refinance existing borrowings tied to its energy assets.
