Consumer stocks were edging higher premarket Friday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) up 0.7% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) advancing by 1.2%.
Kroger (KR) shares were down more than 2% after the company said it now expects full-year identical sales, excluding fuel, to rise 0.2% to 0.8%, compared with its prior growth outlook range of 1% to 2%.
National Beverage (FIZZ) stock was down more than 6% after the company reported a decline in fiscal Q1 earnings.
RH (RH) shares were up nearly 4% after the company posted higher fiscal Q2 revenue.
