Consumer stocks were advancing premarket Monday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) 0.3% higher and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) up 1.3%.
Brown-Forman (BF.A, BF.B) has received an unsolicited takeover offer from Sazerac, the company said, noting that the proposal was "not actionable." Brown-Forman Class A shares were up 0.9% pre-bell, while its Class B shares rose 1.3%.
Coca-Cola (KO) shares were 0.9% higher after the company said its fairlife dairy business has resumed the majority of production at its four US facilities following a ransomware incident that temporarily disrupted operations.
