Consumer stocks were higher late Thursday afternoon, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) increasing 0.8% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) up 0.6%.
In corporate news, Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) shares gained 4.6% after HSBC upgraded its rating on the company's stock to buy from hold, and raised its price target to $40 from $37.
