Consumer stocks were higher late Wednesday afternoon, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) increasing 0.3% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) up 0.8%.
In corporate news, Netflix (NFLX) is paying $200 million for the broadcast rights to the 2027 Women's World Cup, Bloomberg reported. Netflix shares rose 1.4%.
