Consumer stocks were higher Friday afternoon, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) rising 0.9% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) increasing 0.4%.
In corporate news, Lamb Weston (LW) provided an upbeat full-year earnings guidance after delivering a fiscal Q4 beat, but the company said disruption from the Middle East conflict weighed on its business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Its shares were up 0.5%.
