Seacon Shipping Unit to Sell Bulk Carrier for Nearly $43 Million

Seacon Shipping Group (HKG:2409) has agreed to sell a modern vessel chartered to its Seacon Antwerp unit, for $42.9 million, according to a Thursday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.

The vessel, a bulk carrier called Seacon Antwerp, was built in 2024 and features a cargo capacity of 43,655 gross tonnage.

The firm will deliver the carrier to the buyer by Sept. 30 after exercising an option to purchase the vessel from Qihang Zhongzhou Leasing (Tianjin).

Shares of Seacon fell over 2% in recent trade.

Woodside Energy's (ASX:WDS) operator for floating storage and offloading (FSO) Chalchi, SBM Offshore, entered into a shareholders' agreement with Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) to potentially divest a 45% stake in the special purpose companies related to the lease and operation of the FSO Chalchi, retaining a 55% majority interest, according to a Friday statement by SBM Offshore.FSO Chalchi is currently under construction, and SBM Offshore will operate under a 20-year lease and operating contract with Woodside Energy through its Mexican affiliate, Woodside Petróleo Operaciones de México, the statement added.The company's shares fell 2% in recent Friday trade.

Gallant Venture Secures Financing Package for Coal Power Plant; Shares Surge 8%

Gallant Venture (SGX:5IG) unit, PT Batamindo Investment Cakrawala, secured financing for the development of a coal-fired power plant in Indonesia, according to a Thursday filing with the Singapore Exchange.Shares of the developer and manager of industrial parks and resorts surged over 8% in Friday trading.The financing comprises loans of up to $900 million from several banks, with the first tranche comprising a $450 million term loan with an eight-year tenor, guaranteed by the company.Meanwhile, the subsidiary also signed an agreement with Broadwood Holding, which will subscribe to convertible bonds worth up to $683.6 million.
