Sawai Group (TYO:4887) has approved the transfer of its digital therapeutics business for non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) to wholly owned subsidiary Sawai Pharmaceutical through an absorption-type company split.
The transfer is scheduled to take effect on Sept. 1, according to a company filing on Thursday. Sawai Pharmaceutical will assume the assets, liabilities, contracts and other rights and obligations related to the NASH digital therapeutics business.
The move is intended to streamline Sawai Group's commercialization efforts by placing the business under its core pharmaceutical subsidiary.
