Santos (ASX:STO) said its Moomba Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project in South Australia's Cooper Basin has recorded 2 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent safely and permanently stored in just over 18 months of operation, according to a Wednesday statement.
The company said Moomba CCS, its onshore carbon capture and storage project, has received more than 1.19 million Australian Carbon Credit Units for carbon dioxide equivalent injected from the start of the project to Sept. 30, 2025.
The company's shares rose 1% in recent Wednesday trade.
