Italy's Saipem has been awarded an offshore engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract for work in the Middle East valued at about $1.8 billion, the engineering and construction company said in a statement on Wednesday.
The contract covers the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of offshore and subsea facilities, Saipem said, without providing further details.
The project will draw on Saipem's track record in the region delivering pipeline and offshore infrastructure, as well as its regional vessel fleet and engineering capabilities, the company said.
Saipem did not disclose the identity of the client, the specific project or the country or countries where the work will be carried out.
