S&P Global (SPGI) said Tuesday its division S&P Dow Jones Indices, in collaboration with Pantera Capital, has launched the S&P Pantera Digital Asset Index.
The new index uses a rules-based approach similar to traditional finance benchmarks and only includes tokens and companies with real-world use cases that generate actual revenue, the company said.
Shares of S&P Global were down 3.5% in Tuesday trading.
