A cargo of liquefied natural gas was finally delivered to China six months after the gas carrier left Russia, with the shipment stranded on the sea for almost half a year amid the Western sanctions on Russia, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing LSEG's ship-tracking data.
Gas carrier Perle, loaded with the cargo from Russia's LNG Portovaya facility on Dec. 8, was docked at the Beihai LNG terminal in China on Tuesday.
In normal circumstances, it takes about 45 days for an LNG cargo from Russia to Asia to be delivered, the report said.
The LNG Portovaya has been sanctioned by the US.
During its early operational stages, the facility primarily shipped cargoes to Turkey and Greece, with supply markets eventually expanding to include China, Spain and Italy, the report said.
