Rivian Automotive (RIVN) reported a Q2 loss late Thursday of $0.63 per diluted share, narrowing from the loss of $0.97 a year earlier.
Analysts polled by FactSet expected a loss of $0.76.
Revenue in the three months ended June 30 rose to $1.66 billion from $1.3 billion a year earlier.
Analysts expected $1.52 billion.
Rivian shares rose 1.6% in after-hours trading.
