Renesas Electronics Turns to Profit in Fiscal H1

Renesas Electronics (TYO:6723) booked a profit attributable to owners of parent of 217.3 billion yen in the first half, reversing a loss of 175.3 billion yen a year earlier.

The chipmaker's earnings per share were 117.47 yen, compared with a loss per share of 97.34 yen a year earlier, according to a Friday Japan Exchange filing.

Revenue increased 26% to 798.7 billion yen from 634.3 billion yen a year earlier.

For the nine months ending Sept. 30, 2026, Renesas forecasts non-GAAP revenue of 1.200 trillion yen to 1.215 trillion yen, representing year-over-year growth of 24% to 26%.

Fitch Ratings affirmed Sinochem International's (SHA:600500) long-term foreign-currency issuer default rating and senior unsecured rating at A-, with a stable outlook, the ratings firm said Thursday.The new ratings reflected the state-owned firm's parent, Sinochem Holdings Corporation, which was rated with "Low" legal, "Medium" strategic, and "High" operational incentives to support Sinochem.The ratings firm decided to withdraw the ratings due to commercial reasons.
