Reconnaissance Energy Africa (RECO.V) said it produced hydrocarbons to surface on a production test at the Kavango West 1X discovery well in Namibia.
This marks as the first hydrocarbons ever produced to surface onshore Namibia, the company said Thursday.
The test focused on the three lowest zones in the Elandshoek formation, and Reconnaissance is moving up equipment to continue production testing on the three identified zones in the shallower Huttenberg formation.
