Global investment and management platform Qualitas Energy will acquire Cero Generation's core European assets from Macquarie Group, expanding its solar and battery energy storage portfolio by 5.8 gigawatts, it said on Monday.
The portfolio consists of more than 2 GW of assets in operation, under construction, or at the ready-to-build stage, and 3.8 GW in development. The assets are located across the UK, Italy, and Spain.
The deal also includes Cero Generation's teams and offices in London, Milan, and Madrid, according to the statement.
Once the transaction completes in the coming months, the acquired business will serve as an independent portfolio company of Qualitas and will continue operating under the Cero Generation brand.
Cero Generation is a European independent power producer with a focus on solar photovoltaic and battery projects.
