Qantas Airways to Launch Non-Stop Flight Between Sydney, New York From 2028

Qantas Airways (ASX:QAN) plans to launch non-stop services between Sydney in New South Wales and New York from mid-2028, the first such service between Australia and New York, as part of Project Sunrise, according to a Wednesday statement.

Tickets for the first such flight are set to go on sale from August 2027, the airline said.

Project Sunrise flights will be operated by specially-configured Airbus A350-1000ULR aircraft, fitted with an additional 20,000-liter fuel tank, Qantas said, adding that the first test aircraft is currently in the final stages of its flight test program.
