Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing, PSMC, (TPE:6770) said media report on its future profitability and revenue outlook reflected management's views on industry trends rather than formal company guidance.
The clarification was issued in response to a report published by Economic Daily News, according to a Wednesday Taiwan Exchange filing.
The company said Acting Chairman Brian Shieh and President Martin Chu met reporters on Tuesday, to discuss PSMC's business strategy following the death of founder Frank Huang.
The company said their comments on future production and sales were based on their industry experience and the nature of semiconductor foundry orders.
