Florida-based propane infrastructure and logistics company Propane Ninja plans to launch the Ninja Liquids Rail Terminal, a propane storage and distribution facility in Central Florida aimed at increasing regional fuel supply and strengthening energy infrastructure, the company said in a statement on Monday.
The company said the terminal will add 12 million gallons of propane storage capacity to the regional market at launch, with annual throughput capacity expected to exceed 70 million gallons. The facility is intended to help alleviate supply constraints during periods of high demand and serve propane retailers, municipalities, and commercial customers across Central Florida.
The rail terminal will receive propane directly from North American production regions and transfer it into high-capacity storage, a configuration the company said will improve supply chain efficiency and reduce transportation delays.
Propane Ninja said the facility will operate as an open-access terminal available to propane retailers throughout the region.
The terminal is also to support emergency response operations by supplying propane for hospitals, municipalities, first responders, backup power systems and disaster relief efforts during hurricanes and other emergencies.
The company did not disclose the project's cost or provide a timeline for when the terminal is expected to begin operations.
