PRL Global (ASX:PRG) signed the key agreements required to transition its Ardmore Phosphate Mine in Queensland to a bulk logistics model from a container-based transport system, according to an Australian bourse filing on July 24 after market hours.
The agreements include road and rail transportation, storage, and port handling services, with a 10-year rail contract that took effect on July 20, per the filing.
The transition is anticipated to lower logistics costs per tonne, enhance transportation efficiency, and enable increased shipment volumes from the mine to the Port of Townsville, the filing said.
The first bulk logistics shipment is scheduled to load at the Port of Townsville in August, with increased throughput enabling regular shipments thereafter, the filing added.
