PPL (PPL) reported Q2 earnings Thursday, showing total electricity sales of 15,491 gigawatt-hours, down from 15,737 GWh a year earlier.
Pennsylvania retail deliveries totaled 8,382 GWh for the quarter ended June 30, compared with 8,426 GWh in the year-ago quarter.
Kentucky total electricity sales declined to 7,109 GWh in Q2, down from 7,311 GWh for the same quarter last year.
Retail deliveries in Kentucky declined to 6,958 GWh from 7,043 GWh, while wholesale electricity sales fell to 151 GWh from 268 GWh.
The company said its Pennsylvania data center pipeline expanded to 31.8 gigawatts, including over 11 GW under signed electric service agreements and over 6.5 GW under construction.
Invitium Energy, PPL's 51%-owned joint venture with Blackstone Infrastructure, has secured sites capable of supporting 8 GW to 14 GW of generation capacity and reservation agreements for over 5 GW of combined-cycle gas turbines.
PPL added its Kentucky economic development pipeline grew to 13.7 GW, including 11.6 GW tied to data centers and 1.3 GW under signed agreements.
The company expects additional generation investments of $3.5 billion to $4 billion between 2027 and 2032, while total investment opportunities across Pennsylvania and Kentucky could reach $10 billion to $12 billion through 2032.
