Crude steel manufacturer Posco (KRX:005490) has resolved to dispose of 36.4 million common shares of its affiliate Posco International, valued at 2.018 trillion won, with the block trade scheduled for Sept. 7.
The divestment, representing 3.24% of the company's consolidated equity, aims to reduce the holding company discount and secure strategic investment capital.
Alongside the share sale, Posco Holdings will enter into a three-year Price Return Swap contract based on a reference price of 55,400 won per share, with settlement tied to the actual disposal value.
Post-transaction, Posco Holdings will retain a 50.04% stake in Posco International, maintaining control over the trading and energy subsidiary.
