Pilgrim's Pride (PPC) said Monday its European unit has agreed to acquire Walkers Deli & Sausage from Samworth Brothers, subject to UK regulatory approval and employee consultation.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition will strengthen its UK food business, expand its premium pork offerings and enhance its integrated supply chain, Pilgrim's said.
Pilgrim's Pride shares were down 1.4% in Monday trading.
