Petroleo Brasileiro (PBR), or Petrobras, reported Q2 net income Friday of $10.43 billion, up from $4.73 billion a year earlier.
Analysts polled by FactSet expected $9.04 billion.
Excluding one-off events, the company said net income was $11.07 billion, compared with $4.10 billion a year ago.
Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 was $33.61 billion, up from $21.04 billion a year earlier.
Analysts expected $31.31 billion.
Shares of Petrobras were up more than 1% premarket Friday.
