Petrobras (PBR) has identified hydrocarbons at its Morpho exploratory well in ultra-deep waters off Amapa, Brazil, the company said Friday.
The hydrocarbon-bearing interval was identified through wireline logs and rock indications, the company said. Exploration work is continuing, with Petrobras saying the operations align with its strategy to build reserves in frontier areas.
The company operates Block FZA-M-59 and holds 100% participating interest in the area where the well is located, it said.
