Petrobras is moving into negotiations for four offshore exploration blocks in Ghana's Keta Basin after receiving government approval, the company said Friday.
The company submitted an expression of interest for the blocks, located offshore in the Keta Basin on Ghana's west coast, as it seeks new exploration opportunities.
Ghana's Ministry of Energy and Green Transition approved Petrobras' application to negotiate exploration contracts covering the four blocks, allowing the company to begin direct discussions on contract terms.
Petrobras said the Ghana initiative supports its strategy of replenishing oil and gas reserves by exploring new frontiers in Brazil and international markets.
