Pembina Pipeline (PBA) said Thursday that the company, along with its partners, announced a positive final investment decision on the Greenlight Electricity Centre power generation plant in Alberta, Canada, to supply electricity to a customer's data center under a long-term contract.
The agreement provides revenue through capacity payments and usage-based payments. The plant is expected to be operational by the second half of 2030, according to a statement.
The total project cost, net to Pembina, is expected to be about CA$2.3 billion. Pembina's total net investment is expected to be about CA$2.1 billion, inclusive of proceeds from the sale of land to the customer, according to the company.
The 932-megawatt power generation facility is expected to generate annual run-rate adjusted EBITDA of about CA$310 million, net to Pembina, the company said.
