Renewable energy company Pattern Energy's 3.65-gigawatt SunZia wind project in New Mexico is now fully operational, it said on Thursday.
The project is equipped with a high-voltage direct current transmission network, spanning 550 miles and with converter stations, to deliver power to Arizona and the western grid, the statement said.
Pattern Energy said project construction began in September 2023 and was completed on time and on budget.
The company's portfolio in North America includes 12 GW of operating and under-construction wind, solar, and energy storage projects.
