Brazilian alternative asset manager Patria Investments has agreed to sell its entire stake in the 360-MWp Puerta de Oro solar park in Colombia to renewable energy platform Isagen, Patria said on Monday.
The sale of the stake owned by Patria's Infrastructure V fund marks its first divestment and comes about 2.5 years after Puerta de Oro, one of Colombia's largest solar power parks, progressed from an early-stage project to commercial operation.
Located in the municipalities of Guaduas and Chaguani in Cundinamarca, the project has more than 511,000 solar modules spread across roughly 530 hectares.
The project is expected to generate about 728 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually, equivalent to the total consumption of more than 390,000 homes, all the while avoiding about 370,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
The company also noted that a total of 2,000 jobs were created during construction, with about 95% of the positions filled by local workers.
