Origin Energy Probes Potential Security Incident

Origin Energy (ASX:ORG) is investigating a potential security incident involving unauthorized access to customer data, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.

The affected data does not appear to involve customer credit card or bank information, the company said.

The company notified the Australian Cyber Security Centre and the Australian Federal Police regarding the incident and engaged with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, per the filing.

Origin Energy's shares shed 1% in recent Wednesday trade.
