Optiscan Imaging (ASX:OIL) began a new US-based head and neck cancer imaging study on 35-patients to assess the performance of Optiscan's InVue and InForm imaging platforms in head and neck tumor resections, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.
The InVue platform will be used during head and neck tumor resections to capture real-time, in vivo microscopic images within the surgical cavity following tumor removal. Following excision, tissue specimens will be analysed ex vivo using the InForm platform.
Patient recruitment was initiated at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
