OpenAI Outlines Framework for Independent AI Safety Reviews

Microsoft (MSFT)-backed OpenAI plans to support independent third-party assessments of AI safety.

OpenAI said Tuesday that outside experts can help identify overlooked risks, test safeguards, and hold the company accountable for its safety claims.

The framework focuses on areas including safety cases, critical safeguards, capability and alignment evaluations, and serious misalignment incidents, the company said.

"We are in conversation with multiple third parties about proposals that align with the priority areas," the company said.
