Crude oil benchmarks fell for a fourth straight day on Monday, pressured by profit-taking and optimism surrounding the UN General Assembly and upcoming Trump-Xi meetings, despite ongoing Middle East supply tensions.
Dubai 1st Line futures fell 1.6% to $92.36/bbl. West Texas Intermediate declined 2.2% at $98.12 per barrel, while Brent dipped 2.1% to $101.58/bbl.
"Crude oil started the week on a soft note as the focus shifts toward discussions at this week's UN General Assembly summit and the Trump-Xi meeting, even as supply risks persist," ING analysts said.
Despite the downward price correction, underlying supply risks remained elevated.
Geopolitical tensions in Middle East persisted following reports from Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis regarding drone and missile strikes on Saturday targeting sensitive sites in Riyadh and an Aramco export facility in Yanbu.
