Non-energy minerals stocks advanced nearly 1.7% at midday Monday.
Fletcher Building (NZE:FBU, ASX:FBU) gained nearly 2% in recent trade after the New Zealand Government granted its Golden Bay Cement unit up to NZ$60 million as part of an agreement to support the subsidiary's continued operations in the country.
On the flip side, the distribution services sector struggled, shedding nearly 2%.
Vulcan Steel (NZE:VSL, ASX:VSL) shares fell almost 2% in recent trade.
