Novonix (ASX:NVX) entered into a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MOU) with US-based ACP Technologies (ACPT) to support the development of a fully domestic North American supply chain for synthetic graphite anode active materials, according to a late Wednesday statement by the company.
The partnership will combine the company's synthetic graphite expertise with ACPT's patented technology to convert petroleum-derived feedstocks into high-value pitch and carbon precursors for applications such as military drones and fast-charging batteries.
The companies will collaborate on material development, mass-production processes, and technological advancements to support process validation, customer sampling and the commercialization of domestic feedstocks for battery manufacturing.
