Norway's offshore regulator has granted drilling permits to oil and gas companies Var Energi and Equinor for exploration wells in the Norwegian continental shelf, the Norwegian Offshore Directorate said on Thursday.
The Directorate approved a drilling permit for Var Energi's wellbore 6407/5-3 S in production license 1002. The regulator also granted Equinor ASA a drilling permit for wellbore 36/7-6 S in production license 636.
Norway is Europe's largest producer of petroleum liquids and one of the world's top natural gas exporters.
