Nintendo's (TYO:7974) profit attributable to owners surged 54% to 147.4 billion yen for the fiscal first quarter from 96 billion yen a year earlier.
The video game giant's earnings per share increased to 127.88 yen from 82.48 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Thursday.
Net sales, however, fell 9.5% to 517.8 billion yen for the three months ended June 30 from 572.4 billion yen a year earlier.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, the company expects attributable profit of 310 billion yen, earnings per share of 268.90 yen, and net sales of 2.05 trillion yen.
The company maintained its annual dividend forecast at 162 yen per share.
