Nike (NKE) will terminate its online distribution deals in China under a new digital strategy, according to statements from the company and distributors Pou Sheng International and Topsports International.
Beginning Jan. 1, 2027, Nike said Tuesday that its digital marketplace in China will be anchored by official products on Tmall, JD.com and Douyin, alongside Nike.com.cn and the Nike App.
The company said that as part of its new strategy, with some exceptions, partner-operated online storefronts will transition out of selling Nike products.
In separate regulatory filings Wednesday, Pou Sheng and Topsports said they have received notices from Nike, informing them that online sales of Nike's products in mainland China through their retail chains will be terminated, effective Jan. 1.
Shares of Nike were down 3% in Wednesday trading.
