UK-based NextEnergy Capital stated that its private fund NextEnergy UK I has completed the acquisition of a 107-megawatt portfolio of standalone operational battery energy storage system assets.
The newly acquired portfolio consists of three operational facilities, Maldon with 40 megawatts, Basildon with 28 MW, and Loudwater with 39 MW, located across the southeast of England.
This transaction elevates NextEnergy's total standalone BESS capacity to 165 MW, blending operational storage into the fund's utility-scale solar generation footprint.
