Nexalin Technology's (NXL) Brazil trial of its Deep Intracranial Frequency Stimulation platform showed a 77.8% response rate for anxiety, along with improvements in depression, insomnia, and overall quality of life, the company said Wednesday.
The eight-week, open-label study conducted at the University of Sao Paulo assessed the company's 15 mA, 77.5 Hz neurostimulation protocol in patients with generalized anxiety disorder and co-occurring insomnia, the company said.
Nexalin said the trial demonstrated rapid and sustained improvements in anxiety and depression, with benefits lasting through an 8-week follow-up period, and no serious adverse events, seizures, or mood-switching events were reported.
The results support the company's planned product launch and commercial expansion in Brazil and further reinforce its non-invasive neurostimulation platform, it added.
Shares of the company were up 1.1% in Wednesday trading.
