New Hope Delivers Nearly 5 Million Tonnes of Coal Production in July Quarter; Shares Up 4%

New Hope (ASX:NHC) delivered run-of-mine coal production of 4.7 million tonnes in the quarter ended July 31, up on last year's 4.1 million tonnes, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.

Saleable coal production was 3.1 million tonnes in July, compared with 2.5 million tonnes in the same period last year, the filing said.

Fiscal-year production of 16.9 million tonnes still falls within the guidance of between 15.7 million tonnes and 17.7 million tonnes, per the filing.

Shares rose 4% in midday trade Monday.
