NEC (TYO:6701) profit attributable to owners of the parent climbed 157% to 49.7 billion yen for the fiscal first quarter from 19.3 billion yen a year earlier.
The IT company's earnings per share rose to 37.47 yen from 14.49 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Wednesday.
Revenue increased 15% to 819.8 billion yen for the three months ended June 30 from 715.7 billion yen a year earlier.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, the company expects attributable profit of 290 billion yen, EPS of 218.65 yen, and revenue of 3.540 trillion yen.
NEC plans to pay interim and year-end dividends of 20 yen per share each for the current fiscal year.
Shares of NEC rose nearly 3% at market close.
