Naver's (KRX:035420) cloud-based digital twin platform has been officially approved by Saudi Arabia's Digital Government Authority as the national standard platform for local governments, according to a statement on Thursday.
Saudi's Ministry of Local Administration and Housing issued an official letter recommending Naver's platform for smart city initiatives, three years after the 2023 project award.
The directive aims to prevent duplicate investments and unify technical standards and methodologies across local governments, linking various digital initiatives into a single national system.
Saudi Arabia plans to transition urban planning, asset management, and safety operations to a data-driven model while sharing operational experience among municipalities.
