Nagoya Railroad Co (TYO:9048) will dissolve Meitetsu Department Store on Sept. 6 and transfer the subsidiary's gift certificate business to the company through an absorption-type company split, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Friday.
The company will also merge with subsidiary Meitetsu Customer Service while waiving claims against both subsidiaries.
Meitetsu Department Store ceased operations on Feb. 28.
Shares of the railway company rose more than 1% in Monday trade.

The scheme will be valid for five years with an option for a further five-year extension.
Hanwha Aerospace (KRX:012450) secured a framework contract with an unnamed entity to supply aerospace products, exceeding 2.5% of its most recent annual sales, according to a Monday filing with the Korea Exchange.The company said that the contract is subject to disclosure requirements, and the details of the agreement are withheld due to business confidentiality.
