Multiple municipal bond offerings this week have a strong exposure to climate risk, specifically to floods and wildfires, according to ICE Climate Data.

A $17 million offering from North Adams, Massachusetts, records a flood risk score of 5.0 out of 5.0, ICE reports.

Locations with a component Physical Climate Risk Score of 2.0 or higher out of 5.0 indicate high physical climate risk due to hurricane, flooding or wildfire events.

A $20 million bond deal from Tukwila, Washington, has a flood risk score of 2.8 out of 5.0 on ICE's scale, while a $12 million tranche from Bluffdale, Utah, records a wildfire risk score of 3.0.

A $13 million offering from Waller County MUD No. 8 in Texas, records a combined physical risk score of 5.0, and a $10 million deal from Galveston, Texas, has an acute physical risk score of 5.0 due to its proximity to weather-related events, according to ICE Climate Data.

PSBC Redeems 50 Billion Yuan Tier 2 Capital Bonds

Postal Savings Bank of China (HKG:1658, SHA:601658) or PSBC redeemed 50 billion yuan worth of Tier 2 capital bonds, according to a Tuesday filing with the Shanghai Stock Exchange.The 10-year bonds represented the first tranche of a 60 billion yuan Tier 2 capital bond tranche issued in August 2021.The lender had the right to redeem the bonds at the end of the fifth year, exercising that option to fully redeem the 50 billion yuan portion.
