Mitsui Chemicals (TYO:4183) posted a 4,302% year-over-year surge in attributable net income for the fiscal first quarter to 32.1 billion yen from 729 million yen.
Earnings per share stood at 88.78 yen, compared with 1.95 yen a year earlier, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Wednesday.
Sales revenue rose 11% to 460.0 billion yen from 415.4 billion yen for the three months ended June 30.
The chemical company plans to pay interim and year-end dividends of 37.50 yen per share each for the current year.
