Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' Unit Delivers 3,500-Ton Patrol Vessel to Japan Coast Guard

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' (TYO:7011) unit Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Maritime Systems has handed over the sixth patrol vessel, "Hiroshima", to the Japan Coast Guard, according to a statement on Thursday.

The 3,500-ton patrol vessel, built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Maritime Systems, follows the first vessel of its type, "Miyako," and will be assigned to the Hiroshima Coast Guard Office of the 6th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters.

The coast guard will utilise the vessel for duties such as territorial waters security, maritime rescue, maintaining public order, and marine environmental protection.
