Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (TYO:7011) posted a 97% year-over-year surge in attributable profit for the fiscal first quarter to 134.7 billion yen from 68.2 billion yen.
EPS was 40.07 yen, compared with 20.31 yen a year earlier, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Tuesday.
Revenue increased 16% to 1.194 trillion yen from 1.034 trillion yen for the three months ended June 30.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, the engineering and electronics company expects attributable profit of 380 billion yen, Basic EPS of 113.09 yen, and revenue of 5.400 trillion yen.
The company plans to pay interim and year-end dividends of 14 and 15 yen per share, respectively, for the current year, which is higher than the year-ago period.
Shares of the company rose more than 7% in recent trade.
