MicroVision (MVIS) said Wednesday that it has signed a master development agreement with a construction and mining equipment manufacturer to develop and integrate lidar technology into autonomous hauling equipment.
Financial terms and the name of the manufacturer were not disclosed.
The company said the agreement creates a framework for the parties to develop, test and commercialize perception systems for autonomous equipment used in industrial operations.
MicroVision said the initial configuration uses two Iris lidar sensors on each hauling truck, with potential future adoption of its Halo sensor platform.
The company said development, testing and validation activities are underway to support the customer's future autonomous equipment plans.
